Volunteer

at the Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic

All dental, nursing, and medical services at the Gary Burnstein are provided by generous volunteers. As a volunteer, you will be improving the health and welfare of those who need you the most. You can arrange your own schedule, we just need you and your skills, everything else will be provided.

Our Volunteers

Read the stories of our volunteers.

Our corps of volunteers are using their skills to help uninsured and underinsured adults receive high-quality care in a professional, caring and respectful environment.

“When I decided to volunteer, I researched several organizations and I found there’s just no place like the Burnstein Clinic. Being a volunteer not only helps those who are uninsured access top-notched care, but offers a unique, high-quality experience for those already practicing, those who have retired from practice, and those who are students in the healthcare professions.”

“I would come here every day if I could.”

When Linzie Potts became Volunteer Manager at the Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic, she aimed to make a lasting impact—not only in patient care but in cultivating a compassionate workforce. Before her, the program had just 75 volunteers, limited training, and struggled with consistency. In just a short period of time, she transformed it, growing the team to 300 dedicated volunteers in 2023 through orientation, professional development, and mentorship.

Linzie Potts Volunteer Manager

"I'm a medical student at Ross University. I aspire to be a pediatrician and started volunteering during my clinical rotations. Initially a scribe, I soon found my passion in community outreach. My experiences have been transformative, fueling my commitment to GBCHC’s mission of providing free, high-quality care to underserved patients. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities GBCHC has provided me with and the impact it has had on my personal and professional growth."
