WHAT WE DO
The Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic (GBCHC) is the largest free clinic in Michigan, proudly serving uninsured adults from all 83 counties across the state. Powered by more than 600 active volunteers — including physicians, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, specialists and support staff — we provide first-class, comprehensive health care completely free of charge.
Our services span every aspect of care: primary medical, comprehensive dental, a fully licensed pharmacy, vision care and lab testing. In addition, GBCHC operates 10 specialty clinics, including cardiology, urology, podiatry, optometry, gynecology, podiatry, etc. This broad spectrum of services ensures that patients can receive everything from preventive care to advanced specialty treatment — all in one trusted location.
At the heart of GBCHC is the guiding philosophy of our founder, Dr. Gary Burnstein: “everyone has the right to great health care, regardless of their ability to pay.” His vision continues to shape every appointment, procedure and prescription offered within our walls. Our dedicated volunteers carry this mission forward each day, transforming compassion into action.
GBCHC is more than a clinic — it is Michigan’s statewide safety net and a beacon of hope. By removing barriers to care, we not only save lives but also advance health equity and restore dignity to thousands across the state.
